Fear is very much a part of life, isn’t it? It lives in the headlines of the newspapers we read and in the breaking news alerts we receive on radio and T.V. It creeps into our relationships, into the life-changing decisions we must make, and into our churches. It can even work its way into our relationship with God.
Don’t believe me? Just look at John 20: 19-21 and you will see what fear did in the lives of those who followed Jesus. It can literally take over our lives to the point that it rules over us and causes a barrier between us and God Himself.
Jeus offers us something greater – His perfect, unshakable love. This Sunday we will learn how Christ’s love meets us in our deepest fears and enables us to break loose from fear’s grip on our lives as we experience the courage for whatever lies ahead.
Our scripture focus will be on John 20: 19-21 and I john 4:18. The title of the message will be, “When Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear.”
