There are many special annual family gatherings that I look forward to such as birthday celebrations, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter family gatherings to celebrate the occasion. There is also a special gathering that I look forward to each year and that is with my church family, not just here at Holly Springs, but around the world as we share in the World Communion service of worship with all our brothers and sisters in Christ.
World Communion serves as a beautiful reminder that, “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son….” and because of that love, God has given us a church family that covers the world. Even though we may come from different backgrounds and traditions, we are all united through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
This special service of worship celebrates the gift of Christian unity, shares in Holy Communion, and remembers that God’s table is wide enough for ALL of those who believe (trust) in the name of the Son of God.
